Raelene spent twenty-five years in the information communication profession, as technical writer and editor and then project and department manager. Two years ago, she started editing part time for Ellora’s Cave because it was an interesting variation from her day job in a computer department. According to Raelene, “He caressed her body with his gaze” is a lot more fun to work on than “Key in the serial number and press Enter.” In January 2004 she moved to Ohio to take on the job of Managing Editor at Ellora’s Cave, allowing her to use her organizational, managerial, and editorial skills on a wide variety of projects. She supervises fifteen editors, deal with 170 authors, manage their digital releases, still edit several authors of her own, and is enjoying this job more than any other in her life.

“I don’t remember a time when I couldn’t read and didn’t have a book in my hands. I was a shy child, so books were my best friends and provided all the excitement and emotion I could want. I’ve been an avid fan of romances, fantasies, and cozy mysteries since I was a teenager. My favorites these days are romantic suspense and paranormal and futuristic romances with a high sensuality level. I’ve got over 3000 books in my home—there are no more walls available to put bookshelves against. I’m waiting for someone to write my ultimate romance reading fantasy—a humorous erotic futuristic featuring a vampire/werewolf/psychic-human ménage a trois.”

She will be taking agent appointments in the South Ballroom during the conference.
