Speaker Profile

Heather Osborn has loved the written word from the day she started chewing on cloth books. Finally teaching herself to read (out of sheer impatience) at the age of three, she hasn’t looked back since. A bookseller for 10 years, Heather bit the bullet six years ago and returned to college for her long desired degree in English Literature, with the eventual goal of a career in the publishing industry.

Finding a job at a New York publisher proved difficult when based in sunny Long Beach, California, so Heather was delighted to discover Ellora’s Cave Publishing in August of 2003. Starting as a contract editor, Heather quickly immersed herself in the editing world. In November of 2004 Heather took the plunge, loading all of her worldly goods into a U-Haul and making the four day trek across country to accept a job as a Senior Editor for Ellora’s Cave. She hasn’t looked back since.

Heather currently edits over a dozen authors for Ellora’s Cave, who between them are the winners of multiple awards, including Romantic Times Top Picks and nominations for Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Best Erotic Romance of 2004. Heather is currently accepting submissions for Ellora’s Cave and their new line, Cerridwen Press. She looks forward to adding many more talented authors to her roster.

She will be taking agent appointments in the South Ballroom during the conference.
