Lightsaber Form V: Djem So

History

Form V: Djem So Form V is a powerful style developed by Form III practitioners that preferred a more offensive angle. The defensive nature of Form III often leads to dangerously prolonged combat. This style came about from combining Forms II and III. Embodying the perfection of the idea of counterattack, Form V maintains its existence through having sufficient defensive skills, as derived from Form III, but channeling defense into offense. The example is commonly used that while Form III combatants effortlessly deflect laser bolts, Form V practitioners excel at redirecting the laser bolt toward the opponent. This simultaneously defends the user and efficiently injures the opponent. As well, it employs a basic form of Form II's parries, allowing the user to parry the attempted attack, and counter it. It is different from Form III in the fact that practictioners of Form V will press the assault, using wide, sweeping blows in an attempt to overwhelm the opponent with brute strength. The aggressive philosophy of Form V is the source of many a Jedi's disapproval.
With the aggressive but yet refined movements of Form II and the highly defensive postures of Form III, Djem-So has been proven to be an effective style.

Talu (Force Push)
Level: 1
Difficulty: VE
Description: Uses the Force to push ;/ throw an Opponent.
Activation: Attack Lifting vs Opp Balance to knock to ground. If they fall they take 1 point of damage for every 5 points you beat there roll by. Difficulty is VE and is increased by 1 for every 2 meters away the target is. Your target is tossed 1 meter for every 2 points of damage they take.
Requirements: Willpower: +2

Lekt (Force Jump)
Level: 1
Difficulty: VE
Description: Attacker uses the Telekinesis power to propel himself into the air. This maneuver is used to remove himself from combat (full dodge).
Activation: In combat used as a Full Dodge to break away from Opponent.

Lekt Sura (Force Spring Attack)
Level: 1
Difficulty: VE
Description: Attacker uses the Telekinesis power to propel himself into the air. This maneuver is used to shoot straight up and take defender by surprise (and make it much more difficult to parry) your next attack.
Activation: In combat used to jump up and catch your opponent when coming down with a more powerfull attack. +1d Damage on a attack made in this same round.

Gai Tid (Close Guard Form)
Level: 2
Difficulty: E
Description: Basic holding and swinging techniques for Close use of a Lightsaber, in tight areas, and for higer defensive positioning.
Activation: You may not combine forms. Gain +3 when blocking blaster bolts.
Requirements: A Lightsaber

Sakne (Lightsaber Sweep)
Level: 2
Difficulty: E
Description: Sweep at your opponents feet.
Activation: Dodge +1d, Parry -1d, Damage +1d.

Tii Tinam (Evading Strike)
Level: 2
Difficulty: E
Description: Used when evading an attack, use your lightsaber to deflect the incoming attack.
Activation: parry +2.
Requirements: A Lightsaber

Mar Ga (Saber Throw)
Level: 3
Difficulty: M
Description: The Jedi or Sith employ an attack in rare instances to use the cutting power of their lightsabers for an object at an unreachable location called the saber throw, or a throwing of his or her lightsaber. The lightsaber is thrown; usually the blade tip spins in a circular motion about the hilt; and the saber hits its target, usually to cut it. Skilled practitioners will use the Force to manipulate the trajectory of the lightsaber and then redirect it back to their hand.
Activation: Lightsaber Parry +2d, Dodge -2d. Damage +1d

Elpa (Breath Control)
Level: 4
Difficulty: D
Description: When practicing, take three deep silent breathes attacking on the third breath. Think positive thoughts with each inhalation and disperse negative thoughts with every exhalation. The breaths should enter the nostrils, circle the crown of the head and settle to the lungs.
Activation: Used to keep control over your emotions during a fight and avoid the temptations of the darkside. Required during some of the more aggressive styles of lightsaber combat to fight their built in pull to the darkside. Gain +1 to a temptation roll for every 3 points you beat the difficulty by.

Turn Blaster Bolt
Level: 4
Difficulty: D
Activation: As a defense action you can make a Difficult Lightsaber Parry to turn a blaster bolt, once turned make a Blaster roll (Separate Action) to attempt direct it to another target. The Damage of the Bolt is reduced by 1d when turned in this manner.

Cho Mai (cut off hand)
Level: 5
Difficulty: VD
Description: The term cho mai is used to describe the action of cutting off an opponent's weapon hand. This move shows that the Jedi using it has the honor to cause the opponent minimal physical damage; it also shows the skill and mastery of the Jedi performing the move to the opponent.
Activation: Attack -1d, Parry +2d Damage is applied to target limb. (If more than 30% of the Opponents total damage is taken the hand is removed.)

Rebound Blaster Bolt
Level: 6
Difficulty: H
Activation: If you have your lightsaber on you can auto return a blaster bolt to its sender. The bolt is reduced in damage by -2d. (This is a free action)
