Disadvantages

A "disadvantage" is a problem of imperfection the renders you less capable than your attributes, advantages and skills would otherwise indicate. Players may take up to 10 points in disadvantages and spend up to 20 points on advantages at creation. Disadvantages are hard to remove and will require roleplaying as well as 5 character points per point to later "buy off".

[Dis] Addiction

You are addicted to a drug which you must use daily or suffer withdrawl. Cheap drugs cost less than 100 credits, Expensive drugs less than 500 credits, and very expensive 500 or more. Giving drugs up voluntarily or otherwise will cause a PC to go into withdrawl. Some drugs even form a Psycological dependency, a mental disadvantage that may lead to mental problems. Other drugs induces a physiological dependency, which is physical in nature. Should you successfully withdraw from an addiction you must immediately buy off this disadvantage.

[Dis] Age

You PC is a teenager or just past middle age. In general PC who are "too young" will not be taken seriously, may be ignored and will have less rights and control then older PCs. Those who are "too old" get treated in the same way.

[Dis] Alcoholism

You are addicted to alcohol which you must use daily or suffer withdrawl. Any time you are in the pressence of alcohol you must roll vs willpower to avoid partaking. A failed roll means you go on a "binge" lasting 2d hours, followed by a hangover. The other drawback of alcholism is its very hard to get rid off. Should you manager to withdrawl you no longer need to drink daily but must make willpower rolls at minus 1d whenever you are in the pressence of alcohol. Failing will result in a binge, and falling off the wagon 3 times in a week will reinstate the addiction.

[Dis] Allergy

A resonably common thing that you can not always avoid effect you in a negative way. When exposed make a stamina check or take damage from the source. This effect is every round spent exposed to the source, you may be able to take defenses against it.

[Dis] Amnesia

You've lost your memory. You can't remeber any of your past life, including your name. This disadvantage comes in two levels.

Partial Amnesia: You, the player can see your character sheet, but the GM may reserve up to 6 points of your disadvantages allotment for "secret" disadvantages of his choosing. You know that you can use certain skills, but have no memory of were you learned how to use them. You are likly to have enemys - and friends - that you can not remeber. You could turn yourself into the police but you may be a wanted criminal, and even if you find out your name it wont help you to remember who your are.

Total Amnesia: the only things you can specify in character creation is what you the player can see in a mirror. The GM assigns everything else - and holds onto your character sheet until you regain your memory. You have no idea of your full abilities, since the GM knows your character he may overrule your actions and will make all skill rolls for you, because you have no idea what you can do until you try something.

[Dis] Bad Temper

You are not in full control of your emotions. You will be required to make a self control roll in stressful situations. If you fail, you lose your temper and must insult, attack, or otherwise act out against the cause of the stress.

[Dis] Callous

You are merciless, if not cruel. You can decipher others emotions, you you do so only to manipulate them. You do not care about there feelings. This grants you a -1d on all teaching and psychology rolls made to help others. Also any skill roll you have made with those who have suffered from your callousness in the past (GMs decision). Plus past victory react negativly to you. You do however get a +1 to all intimidation and interrogation rolls when making threats and or torturing someone :).

[Dis] Colorblindness

You are completey color blind and can not see any colors at all. In any situation that requires being able to see in color identification (cutting the red wire), the GM will give you approprate difficulties. Certain skills are always harder for you in particular the following skills are at -1: Most artistic skills, chemistry, driving and piloting skills, merchant skills, tracking skills.

[Dis] Confused

To You the world is a strange and uncomprehensible place most of the time. Your not necessarily stupid, but you are slow to pick up and new facts and situations. In particular excessive stimulation is hard for you to process. You do all right in your home enviroment but strange new places, or when theres a lot of commotion you will need to make a self control roll, on failure you lock up. This often limits your long range polanning, or tactica rolls. If this disadvantage strikes during combat you will pass each round. If attacked youll parry and can even attack that person back, you only react never initiate.

[Dis] Deafness

You cannot hear anything. You can read or learn to read lips but are not able to hear anything.

[Dis] Debt

The PC owes money, or something else of value to someone else. PCs can only take this disadvantage if the intend to live up to there debit. The PC should have a reason that she doesn't want to default on the loan.

[Dis] Dependants

A dependant is a NPC that your are responsible for, ie a child, sibling, spouce. You must take care of this NPC. Furthermore foes may strike at them to get to you. If your dependent is kidnapped or in danger, you must go save them.

The PC feels compelled to take certain actions out of love, sense of honor, or another preceved duty to something else. You may find your self doing things of a questionable nature in the name of greater good.

[Dis] Employed

You have a job, it may be inline with your adventuring, maybe not. You do want to keep this job however, or has to keep it for some reason. You will take resbosability for missing work and fullfill your obligations to the job.

R1-1Your job will interfear on occasion, you may even need to keep this a secret. Special Ops, Bodyguard, mercenary, reporter, writer, holo-vid maker, PI, police officer, bounty hunter.
R2-2This job runs your life. To go on an adventure you will need to cut through a lot of red tape. You have little free will on how things are to be done, and if you do go on an adventure, your loot will likly need to be turned over at the end.
R3-3The PC is essentially a slave. You may not be poor or without means, just lack the ability of free choice. The PC does virtually everything becasue she must. Adventures must be in accordance with the job. The head of a large company who need to wade in to get things done.

[Dis] Enemy

An individual or group has it in for you. This could be a single figure, small group, or large orginization that will make your life hell, maybe even want to see you dead. The PC may not know why they are the target of this anger. Note killing the enemy will likly not get rid of this disadvantage, this may only make the enemy change a bit. It will take many adventures to rid your self of an enemy if ever.

[Dis] Force Susceptibility

The force is more likly to effect you. Add your susceptability to the roll of anyone attempting something on you, and subtract it from any resistance rolls.

[Dis] Finacially Challenged (aka Poverty)

Wealth is the amount of money a PC has access to at the start of the game it represents what you earn in a month doing your normal work. Wealthy an above are likly to have estates or a series of investments that will keep him comfortable for a good long time. It could also mean the PC is married has a trust fund or owns a company. The PC is still subject to item availability.

Your accounts will never have more than the amount below each month as fees and living expenses will keep the accounts to this amount, and it could be less towards the end of the month.

[Adv] G-Intolerance

You dont function as well in different gravitational fields other than your native one, and your reflexes adapt slowly to the way physics change in these enviroments. You suffer double the penalties for a different gravity and or get half the bonuses from the gravity enviroment.

Gravity in Star Wars is defind as: Zero-G, Low, Normal, or High

You would never willingly miss a meal, you love to eat. Your PC will always carry extra provisions with you.

[Dis] High Metabolisum

You require twice as much food as an average PC. You need to eat every 4 hours, for evey hour after this that you do not eat you will take 1d damage that can only be recoverd by eating. Note also things will hit your system faster and wear off quicker as well, this makes MedPacks less effective on you and increases the difficulty to use one by one level.

[Dis] Infamy

You are about as well know as someone with fame, but for different reasons. The odds of being recongized are the same as for fame. Infamy will result in hostility, prejudice and intentional slights. Interactions will be 1d harder per rank is spotted.

R3-3Your hated to the point of violence, better use disguies or avoid public places. You may have to move arround a lot to escape her infamy, for a bit...

[Dis] Kleptomania

When in a store or surronded by small, portable items (and not necessarily things of value), the PC will occasionally try to "lift" something.

The PC does not understand the local language. You will need to take Languages: Basic to speak it at all, this will cost you +2 per level and you may only start the game with +1 pip in Basic. You will however speak another game language.

[Dis] Mistaken Identity

You are often mistaken for someone else that looks like you. Your "doubles" allies will come and tell you things you dont want to konw, and his aquaintances will treat you in strang andd interesting ways. Plus he has enemys. While you may straiten this out over time it will take effort and time.

[Dis] Motion Sickness

You are miserable whenever you are in a moving vehicle of any kind. You may never learn any vehicle operation skills. Whenever you are on a moving vehicle roll vs stamina as soon as you start moving failed rolls indicate you start vomiting and will be -2d on all skills rolls for the rest of the journy, on success you are merely miserable and queasy with a -2pip penalty to all rolls until the end of this journey. If this is a long journy roll once each day.

[Dis] Paranoid

There all out to get you (which is likely to be true, but you just happen to know it). This PC will trust Knowbody. She gets +6 bonus to resist a Con, but will also suffer a -6 when being persuaded, and you will need to be persuaded before helping even your closest friends.

[Dis] Socially Lacking

Status is a measure of social standing. Status ranges from -3 Murder to +9 the Emperor. Status is not the same as personal populartiy (see Fame/Infamy), or popularity of your racial or ethnic group (see social regard/stigma). Status normally will cost money to maintain.

[Dis] Unlucky

You are cursed with rotten luck. Once per adventure things will go wrong for you, normally at the worst possible times. While the GM will not kill you outright with bad luck, anything less than that is far game.

[Dis] Vengeful

You cannot stand to "lose" or be "wronged". If the PC thinks something made them look foolish they will go to great lengths to get even. (likly taking things too far.)

[Dis] Xenophilia

You instinctively fascinated and attracted by strangers and aliens, no matter how dangerous or frightening they appear to be. Make a self control roll whenever you meet someone or something like this. If you fail you will assume that this person is interesting socially and interact with him/her/it. A xenophile finds herself offering drinks to glaring foreign soldiers and making passes at slimy tenticaled creatures while the rest of the PCs are pointing guns its way. This does however give a bonus to being intimidated.

[Dis] Xenophobia

You are upset by any sort of strange circumstances and in particular by strange people. Make a self-control roll when surrounded by people of another race or culture. Roll at -1d if they are not the same species as you. If you lose control you may well attack the strangers out of fear.

[Dis] Weak in the Force

Requires a Player also purchase: [Adv] Midi-chlorians.

Midi-chlorians are required to use the force, but not everyone has the same "Strength" with the force. A player can be "Weak" in the force and still be a jedi.
